Proper Care

Our PeachesFreezing & Canning | Proper Care | Freestone vs. Clingstone

For proper conditioning to take place, keep your fresh peaches OUT of the refrigerator.

Yes, they are quite beautiful. Simply admire them on your counter until they reach your desired ripeness.

It's a torturous process, but leave the peaches in your The Peach Truck bag (throwback logo!), or any brown paper bag for a faster ripening process.

When you pick up your peach, squeeze just a little with your palm. A conditioned peach should give a little before you take a bite. At that point, they are welcome to stay on your counter a couple more days, or placed in the refrigerator for up to a week.

For the best taste possible with refrigerated peaches, let them reach room temperature before you grab your paper towel and take a bite.

Sharing your peaches? How nice of you! When slicing, sprinkle some lemon juice over the peaches to help prevent browning.
