Slow Cooker Apple Butter

Makes 2 ½ cups

2 ½ lb. mixed apples (such as Honeycrisp and Ambrosia)
1 ½ cups sugar
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
½ tsp. ground allspice


1. Peel and coarsely chop apples. Place in a slow cooker with the remaining ingredients. Stir. Cover and cook on HIGH 5 hours.


2. Blend apple mixture, removing center piece of blender lid and covering with a kitchen towel so that steam may escape while blending. Let cool. 

3. Fill jars and refrigerate for up to one month.
