Satsuma Turmeric Margaritas

Serves 4 (in a 10 oz. rocks glass filled halfway with ice)

2 c tequila blanco

1 c bottled Key West lime juice

1 c fresh satsuma juice

1 ½ c honey turmeric syrup

3 oranges, halved and sliced thin

Turmeric honey syrup:

Add ¾ cup honey , 1 ½ cups water, and 2 tablespoons turmeric powder (or 8 inches fresh turmeric peeled and grated) to a saucepan. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring frequently to incorporate the turmeric. Let the mixture cool and strain with a cheesecloth into a fine mesh sieve (place cheesecloth or a thin clean kitchen towel) into a container.

Combine all ingredients in a half gallon container, stir vigorously and serve. This drink is delicious served with a lot of ice and garnished with a slice of satsuma in a rocks glass.
