The Peach Truck will be celebrating 5 years of slinging peaches in Nashville Tennessee this year.
Even writing that sentence feels incredible and unreal. Stephen and I recently reminisced with our Core Team members, Justin and Rick about those early days. We talked about the why behind starting this business. How we used to talk about the freedom we wanted so that we could create a life we were passionate about. We talked about those first few interactions with chefs in town as we fumbled our way through introductions and sharing the peach vision! We laughed to keep from crying at those hard days that felt unending and cruel. We remembered all the amazing people that have supported and encouraged and worked along side us at every step.
The stories are mostly funny. The stacks of peaches in our living room that first year that made our house a fruit fly heaven. The lack of knowledge of what a palette of peaches really looks like. And stories that make your jaw drop in horror. Let's just say rotting peaches. Lots of them.
The beauty of all of this for me is the building we’ve done in these five years. Year over year we work on our craft and grow our reach and adjust where we need. We are so proud of our peaches. They are the BEST, end of story. But equally over time I feel as proud of the talented people we have on our team and the detailed processes we have set in motion that make The Peach Truck a well run machine.
Every February our Core Team meets and begins the heavy lifting of getting a peach season off the ground. Every year is feels like an honor and every year we get better and stronger and the lifting doesn’t feel so overwhelming.
People and processes and product. That’s the formula for success and more importantly joyful work! Keep building.
