Sunday afternoon had perfect timing written all over it. There was an event at Imogene + Willie's office space hosted by Brooklyn Brewery. It was a time to hear from three women in business here in Nashville. Nashville is going through a renaissance of sorts, and these three women are leading the pack in many ways.
Miranda, owner of Burger Up. Carrie, co-owner of I + W. Jeni, owner of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream. (Amazing lineup, isn't it?!)
The afternoon was full of thoughtful questions with wonderfully unique answers. There were many ideas and thoughts that I walked away with as a small business owner myself.
Two things were clearly shared over and over. So simple, yet so hard to execute. First, confidently make mistakes and learn from them. Second, always be true to yourself.
Stephen and I have been walking through each of their answers since Sunday. We look up to each of them, and are grateful for the culture they've helped curate in Nashville. We're huge benefactors of it, not only in our personal life, but in our business life as well.
Thank you Miranda (left), Jeni (center) and Carrie (right) for the encouragement and example you have set.
until next time,
